Rooted living is about understanding where you come from, recognizing what has shaped you, and choosing how you want to live now.It means building a deeper connection to your history, heritage, family traditions, the natural world, and the knowledge that has been carried forward. It is not about recreating the past or following a set formula. It is about knowing your roots well enough to decide what you want to keep, what you want to change, and what you want to carry forward.
Earth-based healing is a way of supporting well-being through a closer relationship with the natural world. It can include herbs, food, traditional practices, time in nature, seasonal awareness, and paying attention to how everyday choices affect the body and mind. It does not reject modern medicine. Instead, it encourages a more connected and intentional approach to health, one that values prevention, self-awareness, and the knowledge people have gathered from the natural world for generations.
They all come back to the same idea: understanding what has been carried forward and deciding what still has value in our lives today.History shows us what came before. Heritage helps us understand the traditions, stories, and experiences that shaped our families and communities. Herbalism connects us to practical knowledge of the natural world, while ancestral knowledge asks us to look at the beliefs, habits, and wisdom passed from one generation to the next.My work brings those pieces together to help people understand their roots, question what they inherited, and choose what they want to carry forward.
I came to this work gradually, through years of living it.Herbalism led me to look more closely at health, the natural world, and the knowledge people have carried for generations. Historical and genealogical research led me deeper into family, place, heritage, and the ways the past continues to shape our lives.Over time, I realized these were not separate interests. They were all part of the same search for connection, understanding where we come from, what we have inherited, and how we want to live now. That became the foundation of my work and what I now call rooted living.
